THE RED CHORD Sign With METAL BLADE RECORDS
April 2, 2004Massachusetts metal/grind band THE RED CHORD has officially inked a deal with Metal Blade/Black Market Activities Records. The band plan to record their next full-length album, entitled "Clients", later this year.
Commented THE RED CHORD vocalist Guy Kozowyk: "The Metal Blade offer was hands down the best all around deal we have received in the past two years. They are hard working, honest people. They've done a remarkable job expanding the direction of the company and it has been a pleasure working with them thus far."
Added Metal Blade Records Owner/CEO Brian Slagel: "We are extremely excited to announce that THE RED CHORD has joined the Metal Blade Family. We could not be happier to work with such a great band and we look forward to a great future with them."
Regarding the new material, guitarist Mike McKenzie (a.k.a. Gunface) said: "The new record will push the boundaries of our musical abilities and it will be great to have the backing of a strong label."
The "Clients" disc will be the follow-up to the band's 2002 album, "Fused Together in Revolving Doors", out on Robotic Empire. Robotic Empire owner, Andy Low added, "I'm happy, excited and proud of the band. I'm glad to see the guys making the leap and I think Metal Blade is going to do the guys right."
THE RED CHORD left for a five-week tour Wednesday (March 31) and will be playing the MacRock Festival in Harrisonburg, VA this Friday (April 2). The following day the band will join a tour with labelmates SIX FEET UNDER which also includes BURY YOUR DEAD that will last through the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on April 30.
